On October 23,2025, the Metalworking Training Department of the Engineering Training Center conducted a fire drill in the welding training room. The drill was jointly led by Gu Bei, Director of the Training Department, and Xu Junhui, the department's safety officer, with Qian Yubin, Deputy Director of the Center, providing on-site guidance. The exercise aimed to enhance fire safety awareness among faculty and students, improve emergency response capabilities during training sessions, and establish a robust "firewall" for laboratory safety management

.

As a critical facility for student engineering training, the welding training laboratory involves open flame operations and electrical equipment use, posing fire safety risks. To strictly implement laboratory safety protocols, the Engineering Training Center conducted this fire drill under the principle of "prevention first, prevention and firefighting combined," tailored to daily training schedules. Prior to the drill, the Training Department had organized safety briefings and emergency procedures to familiarize participating faculty and students with fire extinguisher usage, evacuation routes, and fire reporting protocols, laying the groundwork for the live exercise.

The successful execution of this fire drill not only heightened awareness of fire hazards in welding training facilities among faculty and students, but also reinforced practical skills in fire extinguisher operation, initial fire response, and emergency evacuation. It further demonstrated the Engineering Training Center's strong commitment to laboratory safety. As the primary entity responsible for laboratory safety, the center will continue to uphold the principle that' no safety detail is trivial, and responsibility outweighs all else.' Through regular safety inspections, specialized training sessions, and emergency drills, it will strengthen the safety safeguards for student engineering training, ensuring a robust safety framework.
